Ram Air Induction Kits

We sell air filter kits for both fuel injected (forward facing/parallel and updraft) and carbureted engines. These kits are designed to maximize the volume, velocity, and quantity of air delivered to the engine.

Typical "air box" installations introduce turbulence during induction and thereby reduce engine performance. Our systems provides an undisturbed flow of ram air filtered air to the engine utilizing a K&N reusable conical filter.

For forward facing fuel injection servos, our system gets air through a straight system from the cowl scoop, not air scavenged and snorkeled through complex tubing from the cooling air inlets.

Fuel Injected Engines

MK3 Ram Air Induction Kit (Forward facing or updraft)

Our MK3 ram air induction kit is designed for use with fuel injector servos (forward facing/parallel or updraft). The kit is comprised of the following components which are also available individually:

• MK3 Filter Housing
• Filter Assembly
• MK3 Transit Duct
• MK3 Back Plate
• Sweep box (Updraft only)
• Alternate Air Door
• Alternate Air Door Return Spring

Parts are raw components and need to be assembled by the builder. The kit does not include rivets or alternate air door control arm.

If you're using a fuel injector servo on an updraft engine, we combine the MK3 filtration unit with the same air sweep box used with the carbureted engines. (see photo below)

The MK3 filter unit has no provision for carb heat but allows for an alternate air door "downstream" from the filter.

The MK3 has an inlet diameter of 2.9". The base diameter is 6.5". The MK3 induction system intake volume is sufficient for engines up to and including IO-540. A MK4 system with an inlet diameter of 4" is also available if required.

Both the MK3 and the MK4 are 10" in length and may be trimmed to 9" at the intake.

Updraft Carbureted Engines

MK1 Ram Air Induction System

Our MK1 ram air induction system is designed for use on updraft carbureted engines. The kit is comprised of the following components which are also available individually:

• Filter Housing
• Filter Assembly
• MK1 Transit Duct
• MK1 Back Plate
• Alternate Air Inlet Nozzle
• Sweep Box
• Alternate Air Door
• Alternate Air Door Return Spring

Note that the builder is responsible for plumbing from the backplate to the carburetor.
